Four Tet

Four Tet is the stage name of Kieran Hebden, a British electronic musician, producer, and DJ known for blending electronic, jazz, hip hop, folk, and ambient influences into a distinct, genre-defying sound. Emerging in the late 1990s, he began as a member of the post-rock band Fridge before launching his solo career as Four Tet.

His early solo work, such as Pause (2001) and Rounds (2003), helped define a style often referred to as folktronica, combining acoustic instrumentation with glitchy electronics and sample-based rhythms. Over time, his music evolved into more beat-driven forms, touching on UK garage, house, and club music, while maintaining a unique melodic and textural sensibility.

Kieran Hebden is also known for his remix work, including reimaginations of tracks by Radiohead, Aphex Twin, Madvillain, and others. His collaborative projects include work with Burial, Thom Yorke, and Steve Reid. Highly respected across both underground and mainstream scenes, Four Tet is considered one of the most innovative and versatile producers in contemporary electronic music.
