Big Hands

Big Hands is the alias of Italian-born, London-based producer Andrea Bonalumi, known for fusing electronic experimentation with organic textures and freeform rhythm structures. His sound draws from dub, ambient, tribal percussion, and improvisational practices—resulting in music that feels tactile, raw, and deeply atmospheric.

Emerging with releases on his own Baroque Sunburst label, Big Hands quickly carved out a unique space in the electronic underground. His debut album Thauma, released on Marionette, was shaped by a Mediterranean voyage and collaborations with artists like Bint Mbareh and Buster Woodruff-Bryant. The record blends field recordings, tuned percussion, modular synthesis, and spoken word into a dreamlike, multi-layered experience.

Big Hands’ work resists easy categorization—his tracks often unfold slowly, pulsing with restrained energy and a deep sense of place. Whether sculpting club-ready rhythms or crafting abstract soundscapes, he remains committed to exploring the emotional and physical dimensions of sound.
