Jay Duncan

Jay Duncan is a London-based DJ and producer renowned for her distinctive blend of percussive techno, dubby minimalism, and experimental club sounds. Her music often features swinging rhythms, hypnotic textures, and a deep sense of atmosphere, drawing inspiration from UK bass, ambient techno, and queer club culture.

Duncan’s debut release, In Limbo, was a collaboration with saxophonist Ben Vince and was released on Phantasy Sound. This record showcased her ability to merge live instrumentation with electronic production, offering a meditative yet dancefloor-ready experience. The EP also included a remix by Ricardo Villalobos, further cementing its place in the electronic music landscape.

Following this, Duncan released Infinite Mass on the TRULE label, featuring tracks like “Mondariz” with Cha Cha and “Quantum,” which received a remix by Al Wootton. These works continued to explore her interest in granular textures and leftfield UK techno, characterized by detailed percussion and dub influences.

Her DJ sets are known for weaving together EBM-tinged house, trippy techno, and percussive excursions, reflecting her diverse musical influences and commitment to creating inclusive dance spaces.

Duncan’s contributions to the electronic music scene are marked by her innovative approach to production and her dedication to fostering community through music. Her work continues to resonate with audiences seeking immersive and boundary-pushing sonic experiences.
