EDO8

EDO8, born Edo Edens (1969–2022), was a Dutch electronic music producer and DJ known for his raw, analogue-driven fusion of electro, techno, and machine funk. Active in the underground scene since the late 1990s, he produced under various aliases including Mr. Portamento and E8, and was also part of the duo Cosmic Force.

With a deep-rooted passion for Detroit-inspired sound, EDO8’s music was marked by gritty drum programming, synthetic melodies, and a fearless embrace of hardware experimentation. His 2022 release Binary System on Clone West Coast Series brought renewed attention to his work, offering stripped-down, funk-laced tracks that echoed both the urgency and groove of classic electro.

In 2024, the ShamePain Mixes EP was released posthumously—a final collaboration featuring Orlando Voorn that fulfilled EDO8’s long-standing artistic vision. His legacy remains one of devotion to underground culture, analogue production, and a deeply personal sound that continues to resonate with fans of pure electronic expression.
