Terrence Dixon is a Detroit-based techno producer and DJ renowned for his minimalist and forward-thinking approach to electronic music. Active since the early 1990s, he has been a significant figure in the evolution of Detroit techno, known for his unique sound that blends stripped-down rhythms with atmospheric textures.

Dixon often releases music under the alias Population One, a moniker that reflects his introspective and solitary creative process. His work is characterized by its minimal structure, often described as “forward-thinking ghetto electronics,” emphasizing innovation within the constraints of minimalism. This approach has solidified his reputation as a pioneer in the genre, influencing a generation of producers and DJs.

Throughout his career, Dixon has released music on several influential labels, including Tresor, Metroplex, and Rush Hour.
