Grava 4 is the final album released under the Drexciya name, issued in 2002 by Clone Records shortly before the death of James Stinson. As one of the culminating entries in Drexciya’s expansive mythology, the album shifts its focus from underwater narratives to cosmic themes, with track titles such as “Cascading Celestial Giants” and “Ociya Syndor” hinting at a galactic dimension within the Drexciyan universe. In contrast to earlier fragmented EPs, Grava 4 presents a unified full-length concept, characterized by sparse, synthetic arrangements and a refined electro aesthetic. The record’s original pressing included fictional lore describing Earth’s discovery of Drexciya’s home planet, cloaked by advanced dimensional technology. It remains a central work in the Drexciya catalogue and was reissued in 2023 by Clone with updated artwork and black vinyl.
