Analog Dreams has secured a limited amount of the Gold Chains Edition of The Further Adventures of Lord Quas, the cult-classic follow-up from Quasimoto and Madlib. This edition features an alternate cover created by longtime Stones Throw art director Jeff Jank—a striking, surrealist collage that nods to the legacy of countercultural graphics, inspired by Frank Zappa’s We’re Only in It for the Money and Madlib’s own “Rappcats Pt. 3.”
Packaged in a heavy tip-on gatefold jacket and pressed on colored vinyl, this reissue pays tribute not only to Quas’s twisted, jazz-laced world of abstract beats and stoned skits but also to the icons featured in the artwork—three of whom (MF DOOM, Biz Markie, and Melvin Van Peebles) sadly passed between the design’s completion and the record’s release. Musically, the album is as wild and layered as ever: unpredictable production, dusty loops, and Lord Quas’s high-pitched vocal chaos—classic Madlib in full form. A rare and meaningful pressing, this version is essential for collectors and fans of outsider hip hop aesthetics.
