After a solid 5 years in Detroit in UR’s infamous music bootcamp, located in the Submerge building,and multiple world tours as members of UR’s Galaxy to Galaxy, Jon Dixon and De’Sean Jones make their first recorded outing into the world of Hi Tech Jazz. Both accomplished jazz and fusion musicians under the tutelage of Marcus Belgrave, and more recently Mad Mike, these two have combined to form Timeline, a group named after the infamous UR record Timeline. This EP demonstrates that Forever Forward approach to jazz. Rather than mimic their jazz forefathers and write jazz off as past tense, Jones and Dixon bravely experiment with electronic music and instruments as their fusion forefathers did, leaping into a futuristic type jazz that will take the genre forward and appeal to a younger, Hi Tech audience. Jazz music for those who look forward.
