Biometry (CD)
SOLD OUT
Biometry is an album by Der Zyklus, an alias of Gerald Donald, originally released in 2004 on Clone Records. Known for his work as one half of Drexciya, Donald continued to explore scientific and technological themes through solo projects following James Stinson’s passing. Biometry focuses on concepts of biometric identification and surveillance, as reflected in track titles like “Facial Vectors,” “Iris_Retinal Scanning,” and “Optical Fingerprint Correlation.” Musically, it features precise rhythms, synthetic textures, and a minimalist electro aesthetic that aligns with Donald’s clinical and futuristic production style. Reissued in 2017 by Clone’s Aqualung Series with an additional track, the album remains a key entry in Donald’s post-Drexciya catalogue, emphasizing innovation and the influence of contemporary technological developments.
