The Rumproller
The Rumproller is a soulful hard bop session led by trumpeter Lee Morgan. Following the success of The Sidewinder, Morgan assembled a powerful lineup — Joe Henderson (tenor sax), Ronnie Mathews (piano), Victor Sproles (bass), and Billy Higgins (drums) — to deliver a dynamic set of originals and one standard. The title track, penned by Andrew Hill, is an infectious groove with a propulsive beat, while the remaining pieces showcase both fiery soloing and subtle lyricism.
