Maschera is a 12″ EP by London-based Italian producer Soreab (Dario Picchi), released in November 2023 on Baroque Sunburst (catalog number BSUN010). The EP comprises four tracks: “Maschera,” “Trappola,” “Specchio,” and a remix of the title track by KRSLD. Drawing inspiration from Italian dramatist Luigi Pirandello’s exploration of identity and the metaphorical ‘mask,’ each track is designed to be played at both 33 and 45 RPM, offering DJs versatility in tempo selection. The music blends slow, serpentine rhythms with intricate IDM melodies and complex drum patterns, creating a soundscape that is both immersive and thought-provoking.
