Jazz Is The Teacher is a collaborative EP by Juan Atkins, under his M500 alias, and Berlin-based duo 3MB (Moritz von Oswald and Thomas Fehlmann), originally released in 1993 on Metroplex. A landmark in transatlantic techno collaboration, the release merges Detroit’s minimalist groove sensibility with Berlin’s atmospheric and experimental approach. The title track introduces ambient textures and steady rhythms, subtly drawing on jazz improvisation within an electronic framework.
