I’m Your Brother
Released in 1994 as Main Street Records MSR‑02, I’m Your Brother is a seminal deep-house record by Round One (a side project of Berlin techno luminaries Moritz von Oswald and Mark Ernestus). The A-side “Club Version” features soulful vocals by Andy Caine over a gospel‑house groove with organ, strings, and a rich bassline, loosely referencing Isley Jasper Isley’s “Caravan of Love.” The B-side “Chicago’s Twisted Mix,” remixed by Chez Damier and Ron Trent, reimagines the track with deeper sub-bass and space for room-based DJ mixing. Giorgio-style garage riffs and call-and-response vocal hooks merge with Berlin’s underground finesse. The result is a powerful musical dialogue between Detroit-Chicago house tradition and minimalist Berlin aesthetic.
