Illmindmuzik is a reissue of the foundational 1999 collaboration between Declaime (also known as Dudley Perkins) and producer Madlib. Brought back on vinyl by SomeOthaShip Connect in 2022, this edition preserves the original’s raw, analog energy while introducing the release to a new audience. Across a series of short, tightly cut tracks, Declaime delivers thoughtful, low-key rhymes over Madlib’s gritty, sample-heavy beats—crafted during the same fertile period that birthed Lootpack and other early Stones Throw-era recordings.
