Horizontal Structures (CD)
“Horizontal Structures” is the second studio album by the Moritz von Oswald Trio, released in 2011 on Honest Jon’s Records. The trio, consisting of Moritz von Oswald, Max Loderbauer, and Sasu Ripatti (Vladislav Delay), is augmented on this album by guitarist Paul St. Hilaire (Tikiman) and double bassist Marc Muellbauer. The album features four extended tracks titled “Structure 1” through “Structure 4,” each exploring a fusion of dub techno, jazz, and ambient textures. The compositions are characterized by their improvisational nature, subtle rhythmic shifts, and a focus on sonic depth and atmosphere.
