Blue Room
Blue Room is a four-track EP from Steve Spacek, created from material that had long remained unfinished from sessions at Raphael Saadiq’s Blakeslee Studios in Los Angeles. These songs feature contributions from high-profile artists including Common, Q-Tip, Ledisi, and Raphael Saadiq. Over more than twenty years, the tracks were revisited, polished, and completed using modern production techniques like stem separation to bring them to life.
On Blue Room, Steve Spacek takes on full production duties. The EP opens with “They Don’t Know You,” featuring Common, Ledisi, and Raphael Saadiq. It continues with “Hey,” a soulful lead by Raphael Saadiq; “P.B.R.,” featuring Q-Tip alongside Steve Spacek; and “Something Tells Me,” a contemplative track featuring Raphael Saadiq with additional vocals by Steve Spacek.
The mastering was handled by Danielsan. Project management and label oversight are by Jules Habib (aka Inkswel). Vinyl distribution is by Groove Chicago, while digital distribution is managed by Xelon. The release is issued through SPA Recordings in 2025 and represents the culmination of decades-old studio gems refined for modern listeners.
